The F4U Corsair was the most capable carrier-based bomber-fighter of WWII. Flown today by Jim Tobul of South Carolina, this aircraft seen the tests of time. Since discovering the 1945 Corsair in a lime orchard in Homestead, Florida, Jim and his father Joe Tobul bought this airplane in 1981. After a very long rebuilding project, ten years later “Korean War Hero” proudly flew again on December 8, 1991 over Pittsburgh skies. The aluminum piece with this Model is from the restoration allowing you to own a piece of American history! Model was hand-crafted and hand-painted to perfection in 1:32 scale. Displayed on a nice wood base that features a metal plaque with detailed information about the F4U Corsair. Model measures about 11.75”l with a 16” wingspan. This numbered limited edition includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
